Snowfall Biz privacy policy

Snowfall Command Center LLC · Last updated: October 26, 2026

Snowfall Biz is an app from Snowfall Command Center LLC ("Snowfall", "we") that connects households and businesses with local snow, shovel, and ice help. It is an iPhone app, distributed through the Apple App Store once its listing is live, and it is also available on the web at biz.snowfallcommandcenter.com. This policy explains what Snowfall Biz collects, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version: we collect what the app needs to post, find, and complete winter jobs. We do not sell personal information, we do not show ads, we do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the app does not collect location in the background.

What we collect

Information When Why
Name The legal name you type on your account; the name shown on your posts; the name typed on a waiver Run your account, show who posted or took a job, keep a signed waiver record
Email address When you sign in (we email you a one-time sign-in code) or join a service-area waitlist Sign-in codes (today the only email Snowfall Biz sends you), replies to requests you send us, and the waitlist. No marketing email.
Phone number Only if you request a seasonal contract So Snowfall can confirm the contract with you
Address The ZIP (and optional street) on your account; the street and ZIP on a job or seasonal contract Check the service area, tell the worker where the job is
Precise location Only while the app is open and you are the assigned worker on an accepted job (see "Location" below) Show that a job is underway and plan routes

Posts, chat messages, reports, and blocks When you post a job, chat on a job, or report or block a post or person Run the marketplace and keep it safe
Support messages When you contact Snowfall from the app or by email Answer you

We do not collect contacts, health data, browsing or search history, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers. The app has no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK.

Payments

In-app payment is off today. On a job done by a worker who is not a Snowfall employee, you and the worker agree on the price and settle it directly. On a job done by a Snowfall employee, you pay Snowfall Command Center LLC, for example through its Venmo business profile (@snowfallcc). Either way, the app itself does not collect card or bank details, charge a card, keep any job money, or take a fee. Snowfall plans to keep a platform fee of 15% of the job price on jobs done by workers who are not Snowfall employees, taken from the worker's payout, and every fee will be shown before you agree to a job or a charge.

If Snowfall turns in-app payment on, card payments and worker payouts are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects the card and bank details directly. Snowfall receives only what Stripe shares back with us (for example, the payment status and the amount). Snowfall never sees or stores card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. We will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before in-app payment is turned on.

Venmo payments for employee jobs. If you pay Snowfall by Venmo, we receive what Venmo shows us: your Venmo name and username, the amount, the date, and the note you write (such as the job ID). We use it to match the payment to your job, keep our books, and pay tips to employees. These are payment and tax records. We keep them for up to 7 years after the payment and then delete them. They are kept even if you delete your Snowfall Biz account, because we need them for our books and taxes. We don't sell this information or use it for advertising. Venmo's own privacy policy applies to the information Venmo collects.

Location

  • What we store: a latitude, a longitude, the accuracy in meters, the time the point was captured, and the job it belongs to.
  • When: only while the app is open and you are the assigned worker on an accepted job. When the job is marked done or cancelled, you are asked whether to stop sharing. If you keep sharing after the job ends and have not accepted another job, you are asked every 10 minutes whether you are still working; if you do not answer within 10 minutes, sharing turns off. The app does not collect location in the background, and it does not ask for "Always" location permission.
  • Snowfall employees share location on company jobs. They see a disclosure and acknowledge it before taking a company job.
  • Contractors choose whether to share, from Account or when accepting a job. The choice is logged with a timestamp. It can be turned off any time, and turning it off does not change which jobs a contractor can take.
  • Who can see it: the worker can see their own points. An authorized Snowfall executive, signed in with a second authentication factor, can see them. Residents and other users never see a worker's coordinates.
  • How long: location points are deleted after 30 days, or right away when you delete your account.

The ZIP you type to check the service area is not device location.

How information is shared

  • With other users, as part of a job. When you post a job, workers see the post, including the town, the price, and the photos. The street address and job chat are shared with the worker who accepts the job. A worker's name is shown to the resident on a job they accepted.
  • With service providers who run the app for us: hosting (Netlify), database, authentication and file storage (Supabase), and email delivery for sign-in codes and service notices. They may use the information only to provide those services to us, and they must protect it with the same or equal protection described in this policy. If in-app payment is turned on, Stripe processes payments and payouts. For identity checks, fraud prevention, and its own legal duties, Stripe handles information under its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • For safety and the law. We may share information when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
  • If the business changes hands, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Snowfall employees

If you work for Snowfall Command Center LLC as an employee, the information we keep about your work (timesheets, storm availability answers and related emails) is described in the Snowfall Employee Privacy Notice in the app. Residents, contractors and other employees never see it.

Reports, blocks, and moderation

You can report a job post or a job chat, and you can block a poster. A report goes to Snowfall's review queue with the reason you give; an authorized Snowfall executive reviews it and may remove content or suspend or ban the account. A blocked poster's posts are hidden from you right away.

How long we keep information

  • Your account and posts are kept while your account is open. Job, payment, payout and invoice records are deleted 7 years after they close (job done or cancelled, payment settled, invoice paid or voided), whether or not the account is still open.
  • Location points: 30 days, or right away when you delete your account.
  • When you delete your account, your Snowfall Biz profile and the personal details stored with it are removed right away. That includes your location points, the name, street, ZIP and description on jobs you posted, your chat message text, photos on jobs you posted, and the name, phone, street and ZIP on seasonal contracts you requested. A pending seasonal request is cancelled, a pending business invite to or from you is revoked, and you leave any business account. Kept:
  • insurance documents and vehicle photos you submitted, for 90 days after the account is deleted, then erased;
  • a signed waiver, as a legal record, including the name you typed and the IP address recorded with it;
  • if you accepted the Snowfall Worker Payment Terms for in-app payouts, the version and the time you accepted them, as a legal record;
  • a photo you added to someone else's job stays with that job (24 months; 3 years on a business job);
  • job, payment, payout and invoice records, without your name or contact details, for 7 years after the job is done or cancelled, the payment settles, or the invoice is paid or voided, then deleted;
  • records of Venmo payments you made to Snowfall Command Center LLC (your Venmo name and username, the amount, date and note), for up to 7 years after the payment, then deleted;
  • seasonal contract records, without your name or contact details;
  • account suspension records, safety reports about your account, and your location consent choices;
  • commercial insurance verification details (the insurer, the last four digits of the policy number, the limits, and the expiry date) and any payout account reference, kept as business records with job and payment records;
  • records we must keep by law.
  • Snowfall Biz, Snowfall App, and Snowfall Winter Comms use one Snowfall sign-in. Deleting your Snowfall Biz account does not delete your Snowfall App or Snowfall Winter Comms account. Each app's own privacy policy says what deleting an account there removes. If you don't use Snowfall App or Snowfall Winter Comms, deleting your Snowfall Biz account also closes the sign-in. If you do, the sign-in stays so those apps keep working, but it can no longer open a Snowfall Biz account. Email us if you want the sign-in closed too.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your account in the app: Account → Delete my account → Delete my account (confirm). You can also email us to ask for deletion.
  • Access or correct your information: email us. You can update your ZIP and street on the Account screen. For identity reasons, a legal name cannot be changed in the app once stored; email us to correct it.
  • Location: contractors can turn sharing off on the Account screen. You can also turn off location for Snowfall Biz in your phone's Settings.
  • Camera and photos: used only when you choose to add a photo; you can turn access off in your phone's Settings.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law (for example, to know, delete, or correct personal information). Email us to make a request; we will not discriminate against you for using these rights.

Children

Snowfall Biz is only for people 18 and older, and you must confirm that you are 18 or older to create an account. Snowfall Biz is not directed to children, including children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will close it and delete their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email nathaniel.dale@snowfallcommandcenter.com and we will delete it.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to stored data is limited by account, and Snowfall executive access requires a second authentication factor. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Where we operate

Snowfall Biz is offered in the United States, in ZIP codes within 20 miles of Pelham, NH and within 20 miles of Attleboro, MA, which includes North Attleboro, MA and Pawtucket, RI. Our database is hosted in the United States (Supabase, US East).

Changes

We will post any change on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant (for example, turning on in-app payment), we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
